You should spend around 40 minutes to complete this task and it is worth ⅔ of your total writing grade. You should write in a formal way and make sure than your essay ideas are balanced, and supported with relevant points and examples. Make sure you answer the question fully and follow the IELTS writing marking criteria. An organised essay structure will help you to write a clear essay, including a good discussion.

Essay Structure

1. Introduction
The introduction should show the reader what topic the essay will discuss and what aspects of that topic will be argued.

2. Main Body
In the main body of your essay, you will discuss different sides of an argument or address the questions presented in the task. This should be done clearly in two or three paragraphs.

3. Conclusion
The conclusion should include a summary of your discussed arguments and is usually where you will present your personal opinion.
