What Is Skim Reading
Skimming a passage means to read it generally and quickly by focussing on the content words such as the nouns and verbs. By doing this, you will find the main points and have a general understanding of the article and the content.
This is very useful because you will know where to look for answers later and it will save you a lot of time in the exam.

The IELTS Writing Reading exam tests a range of reading abilities. Understanding the given article, in general, is an important part of the test. Think about how you would read the article in your native language and use the same skills. Of course, nothing is more important than practice!
